Walking is literally outside our front door. There are miles of quiet country lanes that meander up into the mountains, where the sheep run free and think the road belongs to them. Mountain and Valley Walks

The Nire Valley has the terrain to suit every grade of walker from the experienced mountaineer to the complete beginner. Whether ones stay is long or short, or whether ones wish is to pursue a hard days walk or to take life at a a gentle pace we can offer unlimited choice, with over 200 square miles of moorland. On the Dungarvan Hillwalking Club web site you can view some pictures taken in the mountains of Waterford.

Mahon Falls
The tumbling Mahon River, in the Comeragh Mountains, lie at the end of a sensitively developed footpath, signposted, off the N25 at Leamybrien. Well worth a visit.

Ardmore
Situated on the coast overlooking a long sandy beach is the beautiful village of Ardmore. Dominating the village is the remains of St. Declans monastery, founded in the 5th century. The 95 foot high tower built on the site is regarded as one of the finest in Ireland. The remains of the late 12th early 13th century Cathedral are also worth a visit, the carvings on the gable are of particular interest. If you visit Ardmore be sure to visit the Ardmore Pottery and Craft Shop which sells the very best in quality Irish made products.
